Engineering History: Shivalik Group Executes Gujarat’s Largest Single-Pour Rafting at Shivalik Curv
At Shivalik Group, we believe in not just building spaces but creating history. With immense pride, we announce a groundbreaking milestone that redefines engineering excellence in Gujarat’s real estate landscape. Our latest achievement? The successful completion of the state’s largest-ever single-pour raft foundation at our upcoming landmark project, Shivalik Curv.
Redefining the Limits of Engineering
Shivalik Curv isn’t just another high-rise. Designed to emulate the fluid, organic form of a seashell, the architectural brilliance of this structure demanded a foundation that matched its futuristic vision. Rising to the challenge, our engineering and project management teams came together to execute a single-pour rafting of 11,200 cubic meters of concrete at a depth of 5.4 meters — the first of its kind in Gujarat.
This continuous pour spanned 91 hours non-stop, a feat that required not only advanced machinery and skilled manpower but also extreme precision and planning. With this, Shivalik Curv surpasses our own previous benchmark set at Shivalik Skyview (8,800 cubic meters at 3 meters depth), raising the bar once again.
The Numbers Behind the Feat
- Concrete Volume: 11,200 cubic meters
- Raft Depth: 5.4 meters
- Pour Duration: 91 hours (non-stop)
- Steel Used: 2,500+ metric tonnes (16 layers of 40mm steel)
- Steel Cost: ₹15 Crore
- Concrete Cost: ₹7.5 Crore
- Transit Mixers Used: 1,600
- High-Performance Pumps: 8
- Quality Engineers on Site: 8
- Construction Workforce: 250+ skilled laborers for 85 days
- Concrete Plants Active: 8 (each with dedicated QC engineers)
- Transit Mixers Rejected for QC: 75-80
Quality at the Core
What sets this feat apart is not just its scale, but our uncompromising focus on quality. To maintain the required temperature during pouring, we used temperature-controlled concrete maintained between 26-27°C with ice infusion. For the first time in Gujarat, real-time concrete sensors were used to monitor temperatures continuously for 7-8 days post-pour.
More than 75 transit mixers were rejected on-site due to non-compliance with our strict QC standards — a reflection of our zero-tolerance policy towards quality deviation.
Precision. Discipline. Innovation.
Executing a raft of this scale meant running a tightly coordinated operation involving multiple stakeholders, real-time monitoring, logistical precision, and above all, disciplined teamwork. With partnerships like Hindustan and UltraTech for concrete supply, and the support of 250+ skilled workers and experts, the execution of Shivalik Curv’s foundation was nothing short of a construction symphony.
A Landmark for the Future
This engineering milestone is more than a record — it’s a symbol of what Shivalik Group stands for: innovation, excellence, and the relentless pursuit of redefining Gujarat’s skyline. Shivalik Curv is not just a project; it’s a landmark in the making at GIFT City, and this foundation is its heart.
